What’s more frustrating than a bad habit you can’t overcome?
Or even worse, one that you do in your sleep so you really can’t control it?
We know that one of the most common dental issues your patients face is nocturnal grinding. You have probably already made hundreds of traditional nightguards.
What if we told you there was a better option?
The new KeySplint nightguard is comfortable and flexible, but also durable.
What is a KeySplint nightguard?
The KeySplint nightguard hit the market about two years ago.
Its technology offers the consistency of CAD/CAM manufacturing, and it’s more substantial than a traditional processed acrylic or thermal formed hard/soft nightguard.
Why you should make the switch
The majority of our customers are switching from hard/soft combination nightguards to KeySplint nightguards.
The main reason for this is because the material is strong and hard, but has a flexible fit.
You might be wondering, how is that possible? How can it be hard, strong and flexible all at the same time?
Keystone Industries developed a one-of-a-kind 3D printing resin. The DLP-optimized material combines the strength needed to protect teeth with added flexibility. As the material is warmed, it gets softer and more flexible.
This yields a nice, comfortable fit for the patient that’s easy to clean, easy to polish, and biocompatible.
Unlike traditional heat processed acrylic that becomes brittle and prone to fracture over time, the KeySplint nightguard lasts longer.
Additionally, the elastic memory technology will save you time chairside. The KeySplint nightguard can be warmed in water for easy placement and minimal chairside adjustments.
Our lab’s process
Our fabrication process is one of the highest standards in the industry.
We can make the KeySplint nightguards from impressions and models, or we can make them from digital intra-oral scans.
When we receive your patient’s impression or model, we articulate it, scan it into CAD/CAM software, design and then print it with our state-of-the-art 3D printer.

Once the nightguard is complete, we double check the fit and occlusion before sending it to you for delivery.
Set yourself up for success
We know this might take a little extra time, but it’s very important to send your lab a construction bite with the patient’s bite open to where they are comfortable.
Since the nightguard will keep the patient’s bite from closing completely, it’s best for you to send us the construction bite by taking the registration with the patient’s mouth open. That way, we know exactly what the patient can tolerate and where you want their bite to rest.
By taking this extra step, you allow the lab to fabricate the nightguard to that specific bite and mouth opening that you have seen in the chair.
